Senior Attorney | Infrastructure Finance, Private Credit & Structured Transactions

Location: New York, NY or Chicago, IL
Compensation: $215,000 - $260,000 Base Salary + Comprehensive Benefits
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in office)

A leading financial services organization is seeking an experienced attorney to join a highly specialized legal and transaction review team supporting complex financing, infrastructure, project-related, and structured debt transactions across domestic and international markets.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of law, finance, credit analysis, and capital markets, partnering with professionals across a broad spectrum of investment and financing transactions. The successful candidate will gain exposure to private credit, infrastructure finance, project finance, structured lending, asset-backed transactions, and other sophisticated financing arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review financing, transaction, and project documentation across a wide range of debt and structured finance transactions.
  • Assess legal, structural, and credit-related considerations within financing arrangements.
  • Analyze transaction structures and identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact deal performance.
  • Collaborate with internal analytical and business stakeholders on transaction evaluations and risk assessments.
  • Participate in lender, borrower, sponsor, and advisor diligence discussions.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and other transaction participants throughout the deal process.
  • Contribute to committee discussions and transaction review meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of market commentary, industry research, and transaction-related publications.

Ideal Background

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of transactional experience within one or more of the following areas:
    • Project Finance
    • Infrastructure Finance
    • Private Credit
    • Leveraged Finance
    • Acquisition Finance
    • Structured Finance
    • Asset-Based Lending
    • Fund Finance
    • Energy & Infrastructure Transactions
    • Banking & Finance
    • Capital Markets with a financing focus
  • Strong experience reviewing and negotiating complex financing documentation.
  • Ability to identify legal, structural, and commercial risks across sophisticated debt transactions.
  • Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active transactions simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Experience

While not required, experience with any of the following would be viewed favorably:

  • Renewable energy, power, utilities, transportation, or digital infrastructure projects
  • Private credit and direct lending transactions
  • Asset-backed finance or structured credit products
  • Infrastructure funds or debt funds
  • Securitization transactions
  • Cross-border financing transactions
  • Energy transition and sustainable infrastructure investments
