A fast-growing consumer products company is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to lead their IP and brand protection strategy on a global scale. This role will oversee all aspects of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, while partnering cross-functionally to align legal strategy with innovation and commercial goals. This position will have a strong emphasis on patent law, including the development, protection, and enforcement of a robust global patent portfolio
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and expand the global IP portfolio
- Lead enforcement efforts, including anti-counterfeiting and infringement actions
- Provide strategic legal counsel on product development, branding, and risk mitigation
- Oversee IP-related disputes and litigation
- Draft and negotiate IP-related and commercial agreements
- Support M&A due diligence and compliance initiatives
Qualifications:
- JD from a top-tier law school; licensed in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 10+ years of legal experience, including law firm and in-house roles
- Deep expertise in patent law and brand protection
- Experience in the consumer products or retail sector
- Strong communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills
