Corporate Attorney
A highly regarded client in the Chicago market is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Attorney to join their growing legal team in Chicago. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of corporate matters, including strategic transactions, securities, corporate governance, and commercial matters. Opportunity for growth and development will be prevelant, as this is a team looking to provide mentorship from senior leadership and succession planning. This role will be based in a hybrid structure in Chicago, IL.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including NDAs, vendor agreements, and partnership deals.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, securities, and other strategic transactions.
- Advise corporate partners on legal risks and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, particularly those relevant to Illinois and the financial/business sectors.
- Monitor changes in legislation and assess their impact on the industry.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate law, preferably from a highly ranked law firm.
- Strong knowledge of corporate, contract, and securities law.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with M&A, venture capital, or private equity transactions.
- Familiarity with data privacy laws and ESG compliance.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and contract management software.
