We are currently partnered with a well-established, publicly traded real estate investment trust that is currently looking to bring on a talented Commercial Real Estate Leasing/Operations Attorney to join their dynamic in-house Legal team. This is a unique opportunity to join a built-out Legal team and work closely with almost every business unti within the firm. This individual will have the opportunity to hit the ground running immediately working on various matters related to commercial real estate leasing and operations while further developing their skillset by working with a seasoned Legal team.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate various commercial leasing documents such as leases, amendments, letter agreements, and SNDAs
  • Directly collaborate with internal teams to advise on lease interpretation issues, tenant defaults, and compliance with use restrictions and co-tenancy provisions
  • Manage and coordinate matters related to bankruptcy and collaborate with outside counsel on property-level litigation
  • Support the transactional legal team on all matters related to acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and current bar admission
  • 2-5 years of experience either at a law firm or in-house legal department focused on commercial real estate
  • Strong leasing background with an understanding of commercial real estate properties, specifically retail properties
  • Excellent communication, organizational and judgement skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments
