A leading global financial institution is seeking a Vice President-level negotiator to join its Prime Services Documentation team. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated capital markets transactions while supporting institutional clients across prime brokerage, derivatives, clearing, and securities financing products. - Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing a broad range of capital markets agreements, including prime brokerage, derivatives, clearing, and securities financing documentation
- Managing complex negotiations with hedge funds, asset managers, institutional investors, and other sophisticated counterparties
- Partnering with internal stakeholders across Legal, Credit Risk, Compliance, Operations, and the Front Office to facilitate client onboarding and transaction execution
- Providing guidance on documentation-related legal, regulatory, and risk considerations
- Conducting due diligence and supporting transaction execution throughout the documentation lifecycle
- Advising business stakeholders on documentation strategy and commercial risk issues
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring documentation processes comply with applicable regulatory requirements
- Contributing to process improvements and documentation best practices across the team
The VP, Prime Services Negotiator should have the following qualifications:
- Extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and executing capital markets documentation within a financial institution, law firm, or related environment
- Strong knowledge of prime brokerage, derivatives, clearing, or securities financing agreements
- Experience negotiating agreements such as ISDAs, prime brokerage agreements, futures agreements, repurchase agreements, securities lending agreements, or similar documentation
- Ability to independently manage complex negotiations and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience partnering with senior business, legal, and risk professionals
- Ability to assess legal and commercial risks while providing practical solutions
- Strong academic credentials; law degree preferred but not required
