Senior Compliance Monitoring Manager

An established insurance company operating within the London Market is seeking a Senior Compliance Monitoring Manager to join the business during a period of significant growth. The organisation underwrites across multiple pillars, including bespoke, speciality, and reinsurance lines, and also operates an MGA incubation platform that supports new underwriting ventures.

With continued expansion and working with managed syndicates,this is a key role within a maturing compliance function. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience in compliance monitoring within the London Market and will be confident leading the end-to-end monitoring process with autonomy and senior stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full compliance monitoring programme to ensure the effective delivery of planned activities.
  • Conduct thematic reviews across a range of business areas to identify regulatory and operational compliance risks.
  • Perform desk‑based monitoring, fact‑finding, and testing to assess adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management and relevant committees.
  • Track, follow up, and ensure timely completion of agreed remedial and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and enhance monitoring schedules, annual plans, and supporting frameworks.
  • Stay informed on regulatory developments and industry best practices to strengthen the monitoring approach.
  • Provide training, guidance, and subject‑matter expertise on compliance monitoring procedures.
  • Take ownership of reporting to management committees and Boards.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience in compliance monitoring within the insurance sector, ideally within the London Market.
  • Thorough understanding of FCA rules and regulatory expectations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining ethical and regulatory standards.

Working Arrangement

  • This role is based in the office five days per week.
