About the Opportunity
Are you a Banking & Finance lawyer looking to elevate your career at one of the most prestigious international platforms in the German market? I'm currently working with a leading US law firm with a market-defining Banking & Finance practice in Frankfurt/Munich, looking to strengthen their team with an ambitious, commercially-minded associate.
This is a genuine opportunity to work on high-value, cross-border financing transactions, including acquisition finance, leveraged finance, corporate lending, project finance, and restructuring mandates, for some of the most active financial sponsors, credit funds, and international banks in the market.
What You'll Be Doing
- Advising financial institutions, credit funds, and borrowers on complex national and cross-border financing transactions
- Working directly alongside Partners on marquee sponsor-side and lender-side mandates, with genuine early responsibility and client exposure
- Gaining exposure across the full Banking & Finance spectrum: Corporate Lending, Acquisition/Leveraged Finance, Project Finance, Real Estate Finance, and Restructuring
- Collaborating within a genuinely international, deal-driven team culture, with direct access to Partners and a clear route for career progression
What We're Looking For
- Qualified German lawyer (Volljurist/in) with strong academic results across both State Examinations (Prädikatsexamen strongly preferred; 9.0+ in both exams is the typical benchmark at this level)
- 3-8+ years PQE in Banking & Finance, ideally gained at a leading international or US law firm
- Native level German and fluent business English (additional languages a plus)
- Genuine cross-border transactional experience; comfortable operating in an international, matrixed deal environment
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in developing client relationships early in your career
