About the Opportunity
My client, a well-regarded law firm with a strong litigation practice, is seeking a talented Commercial Litigation Associate to join their New York office. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven attorney looking to develop their practice at a firm that offers meaningful work and a clear path for growth.
The Role
The incoming associate will handle a sophisticated commercial litigation docket spanning contract disputes, business torts, fraud claims, and complex multi-party matters. Associates are given early responsibility and hands-on experience at all stages of litigation, from pre-suit through trial and appeal.
Responsibilities
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and briefs across state and federal courts
- Manage discovery, including document review, written discovery, and deposition preparation
- Assist in deposition and trial preparation, including witness prep and exhibit organization
- Communicate directly with clients on case strategy and developments
- Work collaboratively with partners and senior associates on all aspects of active matters
Qualifications
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- 2-5 years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm
- Admission to the New York Bar
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Deposition and/or trial experience a plus
