Foreign Legal Manager

Our client is a multinational organization with operations across Asia-Pacific. We are seeking a Legal Manager to join their regional legal team based in Shanghai. This role offers the opportunity to lead and support legal and compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions, contributing to strategic initiatives and safeguarding business interests.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support across a broad range of areas including corporate, commercial, litigation, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate cross-border commercial contracts including NDAs, purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, warehouse, and service agreements.

  • Manage intellectual property portfolios (patents and trademarks) in collaboration with external consultants.

  • Experienced dealing with litigation matters across the EU and US

  • Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and compliance strategies, including HR-related legal matters.

  • Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with business objectives to minimize legal risk.

  • Monitor legislative developments and conduct legal research to ensure timely compliance and support business decisions.

  • Assist in the development of corporate policies and procedures to promote legal compliance across the organization.

  • Support ad hoc projects including financing and investment initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Law from a common law jurisdiction.

  • Admission to practice in a common law jurisdiction.

  • 8 years of post-qualification experience, with experience across both in-house and private practice

  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
