VP, In-House Counsel
Overview
I am partnered with a consumer good company that is looking to bring on an experienced attorney with at least 8 years of legal experience to serve as a trusted advisor on intellectual property, litigation, regulatory, and compliance matters within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company's intellectual property strategy, including trademark, copyright, patent, trade secret, and brand protection matters, while managing enforcement efforts across retail and e-commerce channels.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of litigation matters, including intellectual property disputes, commercial litigation, consumer claims, class actions, and regulatory investigations, partnering closely with outside counsel.
- Provide legal guidance on regulatory and compliance matters impacting retail operations, including consumer protection, advertising, marketing, product labeling, privacy, and e-commerce regulations.
- Advise cross-functional stakeholders on new product launches, promotional campaigns, licensing arrangements, digital initiatives, and brand collaborations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and minimizing legal risk.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 8+ years of legal experience, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house experience.
- Significant experience handling intellectual property matters
- Experience managing litigation and working directly with outside counsel.
- Experience in the retail industry is a plus!
