Labor and Employment Attorney
An AmLaw 200 firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney to join its growing Detroit office. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a strategic expansion in a key market while working with a nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in employment law and a desire to contribute to the growth of the office through exceptional client service and, where applicable, business development.
Labor and Employment Responsibilites:
- Represent clients in labor and employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and wrongful termination cases.
- Provide day-to-day counseling on employment law compliance, workplace policies, and risk management.
- Draft and review employment agreements, handbooks, and related documents.
- Conduct workplace investigations and advise on labor relations issues.
- Participate in business development initiatives and client relationship management.
- Collaborate with attorneys across the firm on multi-jurisdictional matters.
Labor and Employment Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of labor and employment law experience, including litigation and counseling.
- Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing skills.
- Admission to the Michigan Bar (or eligibility for admission).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills.
- Counsel or Partner-level candidates with a portable book of business are highly desirable.
