Global Conglomerate - Lead Employment Counsel

A dynamic legal role supporting employment law matters across multiple U.S. business units in industries such as media, logistics, and manufacturing. This position partners closely with HR and executive leadership to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risk across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on a broad range of employment issues including hiring practices, performance management, compensation, workplace conduct, accommodations, and separations.
  • Lead internal investigations and provide guidance on sensitive employee relations matters such as harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
  • Draft and negotiate employment-related agreements including executive contracts, confidentiality clauses, and severance packages.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in labor laws at federal, state, and local levels, with a focus on high-risk jurisdictions, and translate updates into actionable policy changes.
  • Collaborate with HR to assess compliance risks and implement preventative strategies.
  • Manage employment litigation and coordinate with external counsel to ensure cost-effective legal representation.
  • Support immigration-related processes for international employees, including visa strategy, compliance, and training.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for HR and management on employment law topics and workplace best practices.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality and ethical conduct in all legal matters.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar license in the US
  • Minimum 5 years of employment law experience, preferably with exposure to California regulations,
  • Prior experience working in-house
  • Fluency in Korean strongly preferred
