Legal Counsel - Tech & Digital Ventures
My client is a leading tech & digital ventures company with regional presence looking for an experienced legal counsel to establish and oversee the legal framework of a growing international business group. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role will serve as the principal legal advisor across a diverse portfolio of entities operating in multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Advise management on corporate governance matters and entity maintenance.
- Assist with corporate restructuring initiatives (M&A).
- Support investment activities, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and other corporate transactions.
- Provide strategic advice on licensing requirements, approvals, and regulatory obligations across various markets.
- Track legal and regulatory developments impacting business activities and recommend appropriate compliance measures.
- Support business expansion initiatives by assessing legal considerations, market-entry requirements, and jurisdiction-specific restrictions.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including partnership, service, technology, sponsorship, and licensing arrangements.
- Provide legal support for vendor engagements and key commercial relationships.
- Develop and oversee strategies relating to trademark, copyright, brand, and other proprietary asset protection.
- Provide guidance on intellectual property ownership, licensing, and enforcement matters.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer admitted in a recognized common law jurisdiction.
- Approximately 5-8 years of post-qualification legal experience gained in private practice, in-house environments, or a combination of both.
- Strong grounding in commercial law, M&A/corporate governance, technology-related legal issues, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and structure complex commercial arrangements.
- Exposure to digital, technology-enabled, media, entertainment, gaming, or high-growth industries would be advantageous.
