Overview:
An established and innovative manufacturing company is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its legal team. This role is ideal for a commercially-minded legal professional who is comfortable handling a broad range of legal matters that arise in a fast-paced business environment. You will be a key partner to business teams, providing practical legal advice and supporting company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including sales, procurement, distribution, supply, and service contracts.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, risk management, and business strategy.
  • Provide general legal support across multiple areas, such as compliance, employment, marketing, and litigation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, procurement, operations, HR, finance, etc.) to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, and communicate key updates to the business.
  • Assist with dispute resolution, contract enforcement, and other legal matters as needed.
  • Support other legal projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 10+ years of legal experience with a combination of law firm and in-house roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of legal matters.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in the manufacturing, consumer goods, or technology sectors is strongly preferred.
