A leading manufacturing company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Trade Compliance Officer to join their team. In this role, you will oversee and maintain compliance with international trade laws and regulations. You will work closely with various departments to ensure that all import and export activities are conducted legally and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the company complies with all international trade regulations, including import/export controls, sanctions, and trade agreements.
- Maintain and review all trade-related documentation, including customs declarations, import/export licenses, and certificates of origin.
- Accurately classify products and materials according to harmonized tariff codes, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs), and other relevant classification systems.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential trade compliance issues and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Establish and maintain trade compliance audit programs to monitor ongoing activities and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage and optimize the use of preferential trade agreements, such as free trade agreements and special programs.
- Work closely with customs brokers and oversee customs clearance procedures to ensure timely and efficient processing of imports and exports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade compliance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and customs requirements.
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) certification is a plus.
