A family-owned manufacturer and distributor of fine food and beverage products is looking to bring on a Compliance Labeling Specialist who will play a critical role in ensuring the company's food regulations and labeling requirements. The position offers you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and passionate team in the heart of the food industry. This opportunity will sit in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multiple different departments to ensure compliance on labels and packaging and help introduce new products
- Review product labels to ensure compliance with USDA and FDA regulations
- Send and keep track of product labels sent to USDA for approval
- Create nutrition labels
- Ensure product packaging and marketing materials are accurate and following food safety rules in the US, Canada, and Mexico
- Keep records of ingredient and package supplier information and help review and approve new suppliers
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements as it relates to food manufacturing
- Help the quality assurance team with the technical documents needed for compliance audits like BRC, FSIS, and organic certifications
Requirements:
- 2-3 years compliance labeling experience
- Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology or related strongly preferred
- Prior experience in the food manufacturing industry
- Strong organizational skills
