Larson Maddox's client is looking for a Compliance Analyst to oversee regulatory compliance within the energy sector, focusing on FERC, ERCOT, and ISOs. This role also involves monitoring Power and Natural Gas trading desks to ensure adherence to market regulations, including CFTC, FERC, ERCOT, and ISO rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage compliance reporting for FERC, ERCOT, and ISOs.
- Ensure trading desks comply with CFTC, FERC, ERCOT, and ISO regulations.
- Monitor transaction and business communications related to physical and derivative commodity markets.
- Collaborate with trading desks to align strategies with compliance requirements.
- Oversee internal policy compliance in US offices.
- Coordinate with the global compliance team to ensure compliance with US and international commodity market regulations, such as CFTC, FERC, FCA, EU, and foreign commodity exchanges.
- Provide backup coverage for Compliance and Legal mailboxes as needed.
Profile:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- 5-7 years of experience in energy trading compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Solid understanding of physical energy commodity and derivatives markets, including power, natural gas, and ETD/OTC products.
- Knowledge of relevant exchange and federal rules, such as CFTC CEA, FERC Rules, and Dodd-Frank Act.
- Familiarity with European compliance regulations, including MAR, REMIT, MiFID II, and EMIR is a plus.
- Proactive problem-solving approach.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple compliance initiatives.
