About the Role:
The Director in Regulatory Accounting holds a pivotal role within the Legal Entity Reporting team. Their primary responsibilities encompass evaluating, documenting, communicating, and executing new regulatory and accounting standards that affect designated legal entities. This role also involves examining the reporting of assigned entities and collaborating with external auditors. Additionally, the Director in Regulatory Accounting plays a crucial part in Global Finance's participation in group capital reporting endeavors and various other projects.
Responsibilties:
Oversee the evaluation, documentation, communication, and execution of new regulatory and accounting requirements that impact the designated legal entities.
Take responsibility for reviewing specific legal entity audits, ensuring proper compliance with US GAAP and regulatory disclosure requirements.
Play a leading role in Global Finance's participation in group capital reporting activities. Lead and facilitate communication with the management team to grasp the purpose, objectives, and goals of the relevant legal entities.
Collaborate with other functional departments to attain efficient, effective, and consistent accounting and reporting practices.
Maintain the necessary control documentation pertaining to regulatory and group capital reporting.
Act as a point of contact for external and internal auditors when required. Participate in and lead other significant initiatives and special projects.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance
7+ years in Regulatory Accounting or Auditing experience
4+ years supervisory or management experience
Expertise in accounting and finance, encompassing a profound understanding of GAAP and SEC prerequisites, along with the capacity to formulate and apply accounting and regualtory principles
Proficient in translating business requisites and challenges into feasible and widely accepted solutions
Advanced proficiency in insurance accounting
Proficiency in collaborating with individuals across various operational, functional, and technical domains
Capacity to make prompt and effective decisions, achieving outcomes through strategic planning, program implementation, and policy assessment
Intermediate-level competence in Word, Excel, and SQL/Query operations
Preferred:
CPA Certification
