A leading design software company is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its legal team. This exciting, innovative tech firm has a global presence and has become the leading platform in its space with plans to only continually expand. This individual will have the ability to work alongside business teams in varying verticals, have primary responsibility for legal issues relating to data security and global privacy law compliance, and work on a wide variety of issues and projects, including intellectual property, privacy, and consumer protection. The role is remote-friendly, however the ideal candidate would be based out of either New York City or Miami.
Responsibilities
- Review, negotiate, and a draft a range of commercial agreements - including NDAs, vendor, SaaS, data processing, and vendor agreements
- Work cross functionally to advise and ensure compliance with global privacy laws
- Provide both practical and creative advice and counsel on legal and business requests
- Work cross functionally with various teams to implement and maintain data protection standards, mitigate any risks, and ensure compliance with data privacy laws
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of privacy and product counseling experience and strong commercial negotiation and drafting skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Experience working with both US and international laws dealing directly with privacy, data security and intellectual property
- JD and active bar membership
