A Global Private Equity Firm is seeking a private funds counsel to join their team as they continue to grow. In the role you'll lead the design, formulation, and negotiation of client conversions for all comingled funds and assume the responsibility and ownership of select funds and separate accounts. As the Firm is continuing to grow, there will be regular interaction with senior leadership, the client relationship management, investment, ops teams, clients, external professionals, and regulators etc. Because the firm is growing so rapidly there is significant room to progress upwards within the group.
Associate General Counsel Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise of the Advisors Act, Investment Company Act, Securities Act, ERISA, all as they relate to investment funds
- Draft/review documentation as they relate to a variety of fund structures
- Efficiently manage complex structing projects from a project management and operational aspect
- Research regulatory and legal considerations as they relate to specific products, clients, and jurisdictions
Some additional qualifications for the Associate General Counsel include (but are not limited to):
- JD
- 2+ years of relevant work experience at a top law firm, bank or asset manager (preferably focused on private markets investments)
- Flexibility and willingness to handle matters outside areas or expertise when necessary
- Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with both internal and external parties
