International Tax Counsel
About the Role
This position sits within the high-impact corporate tax function at a global industrial manufacturer, contributing directly to business decision-making, risk management, and the design of efficient structures to support growth. The team works cross-functionally with finance, accounting, legal, treasury, and other internal business units to oversee enterprise-wide tax matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior tax leadership to support transactional and planning initiatives, including modeling, documentation, implementation, and coordination across internal stakeholders.
- Assist with transfer pricing matters, including preparation of intercompany agreements, documentation, and support for audits; apply relevant U.S. and international guidelines.
- Contribute to the execution of M&A by assisting with tax diligence, structuring considerations, financing analysis, and review of transaction documents.
- Collaborate with finance and treasury teams on global cash movement strategies, including analysis of cross-border distributions and related tax implications.
- Participate in the quarterly income tax provision process and ensure alignment between planning strategies and financial reporting.
- Work alongside legal teams on entity-related matters, particularly those with tax-sensitive implications.
Qualifications
- CPA, JD, or LLM.
- Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience in-house, at a law firm, or in public accounting (in-house is a strong plus).
- Strongly preferred: knowledge of U.S. and international tax concepts, including corporate taxation, restructurings, foreign tax credits, GILTI/Subpart F, transfer pricing, and evolving global frameworks (e.g., Pillar Two).
